27 - Interest Meeting. We don't play around with our anime time. We'll go over the rules, policies, expectations, activities, events, and the anime conventions we'll be attending in the 2014-2015 school year.

30/31 - Cosplay America. A cosplay convention in Cary, NC for those who want to learn more about the art of cosplay : costuming, prop-making, and cosplay competitions.

September

3 - "The Beginning of Anime" presentation + Intro to Anime USA Convention.

10 - "Shueisha" presentation + "Bakuman. (2010)" + Intro to Manga contest.

November

5 - "Old Anime" presentation. "Momotaro's Divine Sea Warriors (1945)", "White Panda and the Magic Serpent (1958)", "Astroboy (1963)". + End of Manga Contest. All entries must be turned in by the end of Anime Club.

12 - Cosplay Workshop 2 - Sewing Basics : Hand-sewing, Make Something Simple. + Prizes for manga contest distributed.

19 - "Big 3" presentation.  + Introduction to Anime Drawing Contest.

21 - Anime Movie Night 2 - "Princess Mononoke (1997)" [PG-13] , "Howl's Moving Castle (2004)" [PG]

December

3 - Learn and Play Traditional Japanese Games! Go, Shogi, and Karuta! 

10 - Cosplay Workshop 3 - Advanced Hand-sewing and How To Work A Sewing Machine.

17 - Prizes and judgement for the drawing contest shall be given. + Early Christmas and New Years. Learn about a Japanese New Year, plus a present exchange game!

January

7 - Cosplay Workshop 4 - Props! Making Craftsfoam Armor... Starting with a ninja headband?!

14 - Video Game Day Tournament for Naruto Shippuden on PlayStation3. Other games available (not in the tournament) are BlazBlue : Continuum Shift on Xbox 360, a Super Smash Bros game on PC, and anyone who wants to just play Pokemon in the corner on their Ninendo:DS.

21 - Hayao Miyazaki Day : A Studio Ghibli History + trailers for "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984)", "My Neighbor Totoro (1988)" , "Spirited Away (2001)", "Ponyo (2008)", and "The Wind Rises (2013)".

28 - Cosplay Workshop 5 - Props! Advanced Armor - Tutorials from SyFy's Heroes of Cosplay and various YouTube videos.

February

4 - Vocaloid - Not An Anime! + Demonstration of the Program VOCALOID.

6 - Anime Movie Night 3 - 5:30pm - 8:30pm. "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984)" [PG], "Kiki's Delivery Service (1989)" [PG]

11 - "Mecha" presentation. "Mobile Suit Gundam (1979)" +  review for Katsucon.

4 - Opening and Ending songs - Why Do They Exist? + Intro to AMV Contest

11 - (This is a free day in case of inclement weather.  If there is no need for this day yet, it will become a White Day holiday celebration, which is usually celebrated in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and The Philippines.)

25 - Cosplay Workshop 6 - In-Character Training. Entries for the Cosplay Craftsmanship Contest are to be shown by the end of anime club. Participants will be notified later in the evening of their position/rank, and their prizes.

April

1 - Entries for the AMV Contest are due today. Watch + Judge them during the club day. Winners will be selected before the end of anime club. If there is extra time, we'll watch more AMVs on YouTube.

22 - Anime History Made Awesomer. Anime collage up to 2014.

24 - Anime Movie Night 4 - Akira (1988) [PG-13], Castle In The Sky (1986) [PG], *Double Feature*: Hotarubi no Mori e (2011) and The Secret World of Arriety (2010) [PG].

29 - Anime Trivia. Various manga, anime, and Japanese video game trivia. Japanese snacks are awarded for correct answers.

May

6 - "Crossovers" Presentation : Manga, Anime, Doujinshi, and Fanfiction alike. "GinTama x Sket Dance Crossover Special (2011)".

13 - "Crime Anime" presentation. "Lupin III (1971)" , "Detective Conan (1996)".
